Most of the consumer cases we see from the Town of Colonial Beach start the same way: a Warrant in Debt arrives — often from a debt buyer that purchased the account for pennies on the dollar — or a paycheck suddenly comes up short because a garnishment took hold before anyone explained the exemptions. Both situations have real defenses, and both are far easier to win before a default judgment is entered than after. The worst move is to ignore the paperwork; the best move is to have it reviewed while every option is still open.
